Cécile Roederer, creator of the online concept store, and since November 2015 in "bricks" *, Smallable, opened the doors of her apartment, on the border of the 3rd and 11th arrondissement of Paris. Pretty discoveries in perspective.
Cécile Roederer likes the decoration, the work of the craftsman, the realized object but perhaps even more the moment she discovers them. This passion, the young woman saw her at work, for Smallable (www.smallable.com), the concept store dedicated first to the child then to the family, which she created with her husband in 2008, as at home that she still decorates with the complicity of her husband and the participation of their 7 year old son. "He likes the decor, he has the eye warned about colors, objects, he is sensitive, he comments," she plays.
The entrepreneur walks to the favorites. His apartment was one. Located in a pleasant and lively area, between the 3rd and 11th district of Paris, it enjoys a real light, offering breathtaking views of the roofs from the living room, and a quiet courtyard from the bedroom. "It's a typical Haussmannian with hungstone floor, fireplace and moldings.The light is through.Everything communicates, traffic, a bit like star, is easy", she says, before responding to our Questions.

Cécile Roederer: I wanted to mount my box, at the dawn of my 30 years I started. At the time, I did not have children but my sisters and my friends had them. I offered them pretty little gifts and each time they asked me where I found them. It is not easy when you have children and you are young and active to find the time to find nice and different things. Smallable gives them access, in the evening when the children sleep, to all that, whether in Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux ...
What does decorating mean to you?
Cécile Roederer: A part of ourselves, our personality, what we like. The decor touches intimacy.
What does your interior look like?
Cécile Roederer: We are here on a base of old with tip of Hungary, moldings, fireplace. It's pretty clean, we breathe! Nevertheless, here and there we have brought some more unusual elements, modern pieces, others found in galleries, flea markets ...

Your favorite room where you like to be and spend time?
Cécile Roederer: The living room: it is facing south. I like to be there. With my son we settle on the couch, we spend a lot of time.
Which piece did you prefer to decorate?
Cécile Roederer: The dining room. We really took the time to decorate it. The dining table in dark metal was and compass feet, Prouvé way, was made to measure. I had seen a suspension in an Australian magazine, but his designer was not "present" in France, I had to go through the United States to order.
There is also graphic wallpaper, a nice picture of Romy Schneider - which I really like, a Prussian stove, scents ... We worked on the decoration of this room as we wanted, our discoveries.
An object or piece of furniture that you could not separate?
Cécile Roederer: Two paintings of my grandfather, portraits of women, including one who follows me all the time. There is also this vase mottled with my husband - we have the same tastes and favorites very close, I like to watch it.
What object / garment or accessory would you have liked to invent?
Cécile Roederer: It would be rather an application that would facilitate the discovery of a city in a short period.
The kitchen, rather open or closed?
Cécile Roederer: The kitchen is close to the living room but closed. We spend a lot of time there, my husband likes to cook a lot, we eat there ... I like the idea of the open kitchen but ours is closed.
A dish unexpectedly?
Cécile Roederer: My husband cooks salty, I'm sweeter. I have an infallible recipe: a half-cooked a little runny. It is prepared in 20 minutes with my son. It is unmissable and knows a real success with chocolate lovers.
Your favorite color in your home?
Cécile Roederer: The apartment is very white: pure, clear and soothing with neutral colors and green! I like green. In the room we glued some tropical green wallpaper.

Your last purchase - useful or futile! - for the House ?
Cécile Roederer: A lot of dishes. I love Jars dishes with its pretty colors. And the knives 9.47.
What can you find at home more unusual?
Cécile Roederer: A stuffed zebra head. I offered it to my husband for his 40 years, he is quite a fan of stuffed animals. I found it at Design and Nature, I wanted to be sure she would like it so I showed it to her before buying it.

Curtains, doors, shutters? What does it inspire you?
Cécile Roederer: It hides the light. There are curtains in the nursery, and in our room, but clear. There is none in the living room. I like to breathe.
What is on your bedside table?
Cécile Roederer: I found my nightstand at the Paul Bert Serpette market in Saint-Ouen. It's a furniture from the 50's. I slipped down books and magazines, on the top a Malachite box, where I put a few small treasures, and a blue Gras lamp.
Do you dream of one more room? If so, for what purpose?
Cécile Roederer: From an opening to the outside, even a mini balcony. I spent more than 20 years near Lyon, my parents had a house in the countryside ...
Rather orderly or messy?
Cécile Roederer: As I get older, I have small storage crises. I become more and more organized.
Do you have a storage or decor trick to give us?
Cécile Roederer: I am very boxes. I have some in the bathroom, in the bedroom. And my son is the same: I bought him crates with drawers for his toys. From the outside everything is neat and tidy.

Cécile Roederer: In the spring I am always full of good will, but as we are exposed full South the plants grill! I fell back on cacti. Anyway I prefer plants outdoors.
